The new Bundesliga ball is living up to its 'Torfabrik' (Goal Factory) name. Across the opening four Bundesliga matchdays, 137 goals have been scored, a number which has been surpassed only twice in history at this point of a campaign - 140 had been netted in 1984/85, while the tally stood at 138 in 2023/24. Even during the opening weekend, two games had six strikes each; Bayern Munich had too much for VfB Stuttgart in their 5-1 curtain-raiser, while Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt shared the spoils in an exhilarating 3-3 draw.
There were three further games with five goals apiece, too; Cologne 3-2 Hoffenheim, Elversberg 3-2 Bayer Leverkusen, and Freiburg 4-1 Werder Bremen.
