Saudi defence ministry says it intercepted Iraqi drones targeting oil facilities

Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry reported that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed multiple drones launched from Iraqi territory on Tuesday. The strikes, which occurred for the second consecutive day, reportedly targeted oil installations located in the kingdom's Eastern Province. Saudi officials have attributed the attacks to Iran-backed militias operating within Iraq.

Simultaneously, Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed to have successfully forced a Saudi oil tanker to change course. The group stated this action was part of an ongoing self-styled blockade, marking a separate but concurrent development in regional maritime and aerial security tensions.
